Adding ferrosilicon in the cast iron can be used as inoculant for nodular cast iron, prevent forming the carbide, promote precipitation and spheroidizing of the graphite, and improve performance of the cast iron.In addition, ferrosilicon powder can be used as suspended phase in the mineral processing industry, and in the electrode manufacturing can be used as coating of electrode. High silicon ferrosilicon can be used for the preparation of semiconductor pure silicon in electrical industry, and can be used in the manufacture of silicone in the chemical industry, etc.In the steel industry, every tons of steel production consumes about 3 ~ 5 kg75 % ferrosilicon.
